Cost of Services and Insurance

Insurance

We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, United HealthCare, and Aetna in Illinois.  For telehealth clients located in Kansas, we accept Aetna.

If you choose to use insurance, you may be responsible for a co-pay, co-insurance, deductible or other costs associated with your health insurance. Please contact your insurance carrier about what to expect about your plan. Questions that are helpful to ask your carrier include:

  • Is (provider name) an in-network provider for my plan?

  • Do I have any out of pocket expenses for mental health care? If so, how much can I expect to pay every session? (This is where copay/co-insurance/deductible/etc will be discussed)

  • Do I have any session limitations? (some carriers have a certain number of sessions they will cover in a specific time period)

  • Is a prior authorization needed? (If this is the case please let us know prior to first session so we may obtain this authorization.)

  • Is telehealth a covered service under my plan? (not all plans are covering this service).

    • If it is, do they require a specific service/platform?

We partner with Headway, a company that manages our insurance billing.  You will be required to create an account with Headway before your first session to ensure timely billing.

Private pay

If you do not have insurance, your plan is not in-network, or you would prefer to pay out of pocket, the fee for services is $175.  Sliding scale is available for those who quality.

If we are not in-network with your plan but you would like to utilize out-of-network benefits, we can provide you with a superbill to send to your insurance company to receive reimbursement for out-of-network mental health treatment.  You are responsible for contacting your insurance company to determine if they will reimburse for out-of-network as we cannot guarantee which insurance plans will reimburse and which will not.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate”, or GFE, explaining how much your medical care will cost under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes:

  • related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.

  • You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good FaithEstimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
